Instant composition, poetry of gesture and expressive freedom are the pillars of Ranieri’s choreography. Since her early years her work is profoundly influenced by Katie Duck, Julyen Hamilton, Dominique Dupuy.

In 2012 her solo i…i…io?! in collaboration with percussionist Elia Moretti is awarded for best direction at the ACT Festival (Bilbao) and becomes part of the international IYMA network.

2020-21

She is interested in embodied memories, poetry of gesture and real/fake autobiography.

2020 opens a period of choreographic exploration of digital formats.

The absurd and ironic approach that characterizes her analogue creations translates into the digital collaboration with Simone Pacini: IsaDora – The Tik Tok Dance Project, winner of Residenze Digitali/20.

Thanks to Mosaico Danza grant Interplay StillDigital, in 2021 Ranieri creates RE_PLAY/Wireless Connection in collaboration with videomakers collective DIANE.

Ranieri researches the ineffable intimacy between digital video and body. This research brings her to her stage production RE_PLAY that investigates the pairs of Distance/Proximity and Presence/Absence linked with memories.

In 2024 premiered her last dance production in duo ICE_SCREAM. This duet deepens Ranieri’s interest in integrating the body, voice, and emotion. It enhances dance art and performance practice.

Giselda and her avatars burst into foreign territories with disruptive irony, unpredictable sensuality, polyphonic expressiveness, poetic madness.
